Dr. Leps Malete is associate professor and director of global initiatives in the Department of Kinesiology at Michigan State University. His teaching and research interests are on international dimensions of youth psychosocial development through sport and physical activity and youth entrepreneurship. Over the years, he has served as project leader and co-investigator in numerous international multidisciplinary research projects on youth development, physical activity and health. He works with researchers from the US, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania, on youth empowerment, PA and mental health, and the use of sport-based positive youth development programs to enhance youth employment and other development outcomes.
