Three undergrads earn university recognition for research

Summary

Three Spartans from the Department of Kinesiology were recognized for their poster presentations during the 2026 University Undergraduate Research & Arts Forum.

Each year, Michigan State University hosts the University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF), during which undergraduate students present research conducted over the academic year. The event was hosted in April. 

In 2026, more than dozens of Spartans from the College of Education participated. In addition, three College of Education Department of Kinesiology students won awards for their poster presentations: 

  • Megan Blake for research on: “A Cross-Sectional Comparison of Physical Intensity And Participation Outcomes: Red Ball Tennis In Comparison With Traditional And Cardio Tennis." Blake’s faculty advisors were Associate Professor Jennifer Roth, Red Cedar Distinguished Professor and Gwen Norrell Professor Karin Pfeiffer, Assistant Professor Sanghoon Kim, all from the College of Education. Keonyoung Chun, a doctoral student in our Kinesiology Ph.D. program, also served as an advisor.
  • Trinity Woodard for research on: “Injury Epidemiology Among Olympic and Paralympic Athletes: A Comparative Analysis Of Head And Neck Injury Prevalence.” Woodard’s faculty advisor was Assistant Professor William M. Adams.
  • Jagger Wraalstad for research on: “Quadriceps Strength and Knee Biomechanics During Drop Vertical Jump Landing In Post-ACL Reconstruction Patients: An SPM Analysis.” Wraalstad’s faculty advisor was Assistant Professor Matthew Harkey

Blake and Wraalstad are also Honors College students. 

Woodard graduated from the MSU College of Education in 2025 with a bachelor’s of science degree in Kinesiology.
