Lucía Cárdenas Curiel

Biography

Lucía Cárdenas Curiel is an Associate Professor of Bilingual/Multilingual Education in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University. Her research examines bilingualism, multilingualism, biliteracy development, and multiliteracies practices to advance equitable education for bilingual and multilingual learners. This line of work was recognized with the Arthur Applebee Award for Excellence in Research from the Literacy Research Association for her co-authored article, “A histor
