After working with dozens of Michigan schools and critiquing the research literature for the most effective practices in reading and writing assessment and instruction, Dr. Truckenmiller names the most effective products and practices in a coordinated system. This system was designed to represent how students learn and follows the Interactive Dynamic Literacy model of learning. Rather than a menu of practices, this system is a place for schools to start.
Speaker:
Dr. Truckenmiller seeks to make students’ development in reading, writing, and language visible and improve educators’ access to the evidence-based
instruction that is out of reach to most schools but the most Where likely to improve social and economic outcomes for all students. She has has led multiple state-level projects, federally-funded grants, research-practice partnerships, and randomized controlled trials, expanding both research and practices in schools.
