The Office of Education Abroad offers several events this semester for students interested in global learning. Please participate if interested.

Education Abroad 101

Education Abroad 101 is for anyone interested in studying abroad but isn’t sure where to start! Topics include benefits, program types, cost factors, scholarships, searching for programs, health & safety, and more. At the end there will be a Q&A session where you can ask us questions.

Unpacking your Global Experience

Wondering how to prepare for interviews and write resumes that highlight the skills you gained from your global experiences? Let us help you describe the knowledge and skills you gained, link them to job requirements and grad school admission, and highlight your experience in applications. Any Spartan with international experience – whether a student who went abroad or an international student studying here at MSU – may benefit from this workshop!

Proposals for the Global Learning Conference

  • DEADLINE: September 29, 2024

We want to hear about your global experiences! What did you learn? Why were your experiences important to you? A global learning experience includes education abroad and domestic study away experiences, international student experiences at MSU or abroad, or U.S student experiences with international students at Michigan State. Global Learning Expo

  • October 2, 2024
  • 1 PM to 5 PM
  • Breslin Center

The Global Learning Expo is an event for anyone interested in learning more about the exciting global opportunities available at MSU. Exhibits displaying information about MSU’s wide variety of programs and support services will be available for students to browse and ask questions.

Financing Education Abroad Workshop

Do you want to participate in an education abroad program but are not sure how to pay for it? Education Abroad and Financial Aid have teamed up to offer you a workshop on finding funding for education abroad. Learn about scholarships, financial aid, and creative ways of financing! MSU Passport Scholarship

  • DEADLINE: October 15, 2024

The MSU Passport Scholarship is available to MSU students to obtain their first passport. Students must be a current MSU student, eligible for a Pell Grant, 18 years of age or older, and be applying for their first passport to be eligible. Applications will be accepted between September 15 and October 15, 2024. More information can be found on the MSU Passport Scholarship webpage.

Education Abroad Photo Contest

  • DEADLINE: October 18, 2024

The 2024 Education Abroad Photo Contest is now open! We’re looking for the most interesting and awe-inspiring photos that highlight your experience abroad. Winning entries will be selected based on the best quality photographs that convey a strong sense of place or express a cross-cultural experience. Global Learning Conference

The Global Learning Conference (GLC) features presentations from students returned from international learning experiences and international students currently studying abroad here in East Lansing.
