Through engaging, quality learning experiences that focus on practice and creative uses of technology, we will empower educators to develop a critical lens, promote equity, think in new ways, and become transformational leaders. The core principles that guide the thoughtful development of learning experiences and support that we provide our community with are:
- Providing support from application to beyond graduation
- Valuing diversity of resources, perspectives, and communities
- Promoting growth as curious learners and transformational leaders
The MAET Program
Built on a strong foundation of the psychological theories of learning, the Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program develops innovative educational leaders who seek to transform teaching and learning. Graduates will be able to utilize technologies to support teaching and learning in a range of educational environments, and also develop deep understandings of how, when and why to integrate technology to support learning processes. The program can be completed through our flexible program pathways: fully online, summer hybrid, and/or summer overseas. Learn more about each pathway under “Program Options.”
The MAET is a Plan B (without thesis) program. An MAET student must complete a total of 30 credits to earn the MAET.
Critical thinking. Practical application.
We teach students not just to think about technology—but to put it into practice. Students will discover how to think critically about learning, and establish practices to integrate current and future technologies into their profession.
Our courses have been recognized by MSU’s AT&T Awards for best practices in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
