The Department of Teacher Education offers graduate certificates that allow doctoral students to pursue focused study in specialized areas of education. These certificates can complement a student’s doctoral program by supporting additional academic, research and professional interests.
The Graduate Certificate in English Language Learner Education is available to doctoral students enrolled in the College of Education. The certificate provides advanced study for students interested in English language learners and related educational research, policy, and practice.
This certificate is not tied to a specific degree program. Students must be actively enrolled in a College of Education doctoral program to pursue the certificate.

The Graduate Certificate in Science Education is available to doctoral students enrolled in the College of Education. It gives doctoral students an opportunity to pursue advanced study in science education. The certificate supports students whose research and professional interests involve science teaching, learning, curriculum, or related areas.
With College approval, the certificate is also available as an elective for eligible doctoral students enrolled in Doctor of Philosophy programs in the College of Natural Science or the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
