Lara J. Dixon
Lara Dixon serves as the director of educator preparation and accreditation and assistant professor in K-12 Educational Administration. Dixon is a Gerstacker Fellow, studying how government, industry and educational leaders advance a country’s achievement and economic prospects.
In Ohio and Michigan inner city and suburban schools, Dixon served as a teacher; adjunct instructor; assistant, elementary and high school principal; MASSP Board member; director of partnerships & initiatives; and director of elementary education. A transformational leader, Dixon helped schools improve and become nationally recognized for achievement and culture. Dixon also received the Governor’s Educational Service Leadership, MDE’s High Performing Reward School, Top in Troy: Woman of Influence and ESGR’s Above & Beyond and Patriot awards.
Lara holds an Eastern Michigan University Ed.D. of Educational Leadership, a University of Toledo Ed.S. and M.A. of Administration and Supervision, and a Bowling Green State University B.A. of English and B.S. of Music Education.
