Join Our Lab

We are always looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our lab.

Since the work in the lab is highly interdisciplinary, students with a interest in Kinesiology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or Psychology are highly encouraged to apply. Please take a look at our Research and Publications page to get a sense of the work that we do.

Graduate Students

We are looking for students with an interest in motor learning, coordination, and the use of technology to assist motor learning. Desirable skills include prior experience with movement analysis ( e.g., tools like motion capture, robotics, EMG etc.) and strong data analysis and writing skills. Graduate students are strongly encouraged to email Dr. Ranganathan with (i) a CV, and (ii) a 1-pg statement of research interests before applying to the program.

Applicants are encouraged to get in touch early to receive full consideration for funding and be eligible for the doctoral visitation program (deadline typically in October of each year).

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students in the lab will get hands-on experience doing research activities and will be mentored by Dr. Ranganathan. Typically, students are involved for at least 2 semesters in the lab (working around 8-10 hours/week). If you are interested in joining the lab, please email Dr. Ranganathan with your CV and a short description of (i) your overall career goals, (ii) why you want to work in the lab, and (iii) what skills you can bring to the lab (~1-2 paragraphs).

Typically, new undergraduate students will start at the beginning of the Fall semester in September and conclude the year in April with presentations at the University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF).
