What do I need to do if I have an internship that is off campus?

You will need to complete the Application for Independent Study and Fieldwork, Application for enrolling in a Variable Credit Course, and the Affiliation Agreement must be submitted before you can be enrolled and start an internship or field work that is off MSU’s campus. 

What form do I submit to be enrolled in a variable credit course, like KIN 990 or KIN 999?

What information will I need to provide for the KIN PhD application?

Regular Admission application requirements

How many credits are required for this program and what courses are required?

60 credits are required and here are the categories that make up those credits.

When does the application cycle open and close?

Applications open August 1st and close on January 15th for the start of the following fall semester.

How do I contact existing faculty members?

Please look over the faculty bio page to find the faculty member of interest and click on them to find their email address to start the communication. 

Does the KIN PhD provide any funding or assistantships?

Most of our KIN PhD students are accepted into assistantship positions. Graduate Assistantship Information.  

I am an international student, and I would like to know about the application requirements for an international student.

MSU’s graduate school website has information pertaining to international transcripts, English Language Competency, visa information and much more.

I would like information regarding your KIN PhD program, and I can’t find the answer on your website.

Can I come to campus for a visit?

Every year we have a Doctoral Visitation in the fall. This is a separate application and is due usually in October. Please look at the website for exact deadline information. This is a great opportunity to visit the campus and take part in a 2-day event. 

When do I upload my CV and transcript in the KIN PhD application?

After you have submitted and paid your application fee you will need to go back into your application portal and upload your current CV and unofficial copies of your transcripts. Your application will be incomplete without these documents uploaded.  

Is your KIN PhD a STEM program?

No, it is not STEM certified.

Do you offer any application fee waivers?

No, we do not offer any application fee waivers.
