What do I need to do if I have an internship that is off campus?

You will need to complete the Application for Independent Study and Fieldwork, Application for enrolling in a Variable Credit Course, and the Affiliation Agreement must be submitted before you can be enrolled and start an internship or field work that is off MSU’s campus.

What information will I need to provide for the KIN MS application?

How many credits are required for this program and what courses are required?

30 credits are required and here are the categories that make up those credits.

When does the application cycle open and close?

Applications open August 1st and close on January 15th for the start of the following fall semester.

How do I contact existing faculty members?

Please look over the faculty bio page to find the faculty member of interest and click on them to find their email address to start the communication.  

Does the KIN MS provide any funding or assistantships?

The short answer is “no”, we do not offer any funding. But you could reach out to the Office of Financial Aid for information about loans, work study, scholarships etc. You could also reach out to your potential advisor to inquire about any funding they might have available.  

I am an international student, and I would like to know about the application requirements for an international student.

MSU’s graduate school website has information pertaining to international transcripts, English Language Competency, visa information and much more.  

I would like information regarding your KIN MS program, and I can’t find the answer on your website.

When do I upload my CV and transcript in the KIN MS application?

After you have submitted and paid your application fee you will need to go back into your application portal and upload your current CV and unofficial copies of your transcripts. Your application will be incomplete without these documents uploaded. 

Is your KIN MS a STEM program?

No, it is not STEM certified.

Do you offer any application fee waivers?

No, we do not offer any application fee waivers.
