College of Education End of Semester Writing Marathon Challenge
Dec. 1-2. Writing marathons are several hours of dedicated writing time with shifting locations. The college is hosting a grad student writing marathon that consists of four two-hour writing sessions on Dec. 1-2. You can join in person or online. Drinks and snacks will be provided for in-person attendees. Those who complete three out of four writing sessions (in-person or virtual) will win a College of Education T-shirt.

Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. “Truancy and truancy policy in K-12 education,” presented by Dr. Ericka Weathers, assistant professor in Penn GSE’s Policy, Organizations, Leadership, and Systems division. Weathers studies the causes and consequences of inequality in K-12 education, as well as the effects of K–12 policies on student and school outcomes. Early Career Visiting Scholars Program at Northwestern

Northwestern University is seeking four tenure-track scholars to conduct K-12 education research in residence during the 2023-2024 academic year. The scholars will explore a range of issues facing underrepresented students and connect with researchers across Northwestern’s campus and beyond. Scholars receive salary support and a research fund.
