Assessment 101: Aligning Learning Outcomes with Assessments and Learning Activities

Feb. 23, 12 p.m. This session for Graduate Teaching Assistants will review how to write effective learning outcomes based on Bloom’s Taxonomy. Attendees will write a learning outcome in their respective discipline, design a learning activity and assessment tasks, and get feedback from fellow GTAs. Learn more

Feb. 24, 5 p.m. LaTosha Brown is the co-founder of the Black Voters Matter Fund and the BVM Capacity Building Institute, fighting to ensure that all human beings have access to quality education, safety, security, peace, love, and happiness. Learn more

CED Storytelling Night

Hannah Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and former director of the Chemistry Division of the National Science Foundation, and faculty members offer their insights into how to write successful CAREER proposals that integrate their research and education plans. Learn more

Community-Engaged Scholarship Write-Ins

March 4, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Is working from home making it hard to find writing time? Would scheduling regular, specific times to write about your outreach or engagement work be helpful? Join on the first Friday of each month for three hours of dedicated time to advance your scholarship. Learn more

Community-Engaged Scholarship Writing Retreat

March 7-8. For those who need protected time and space away from campus and other responsibilities to dedicate to academic writing. The retreat will take place at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute in Hastings, MI. Learn more
