RECR Workshop: Plagiarism
June 24, 9 to 10 a.m.
 This workshop will focus on understanding what plagiarism is, how to test it within own work, how to discuss it and where to go for advice. VIRTUAL: Learn more via via the Graduate School 

ETD Formatting Walk-In Help
Attention: Master’s Plan A and Doctoral
June 24, 1:30 to 3 p.m.
 Stop in for a walk-in session and talk to Graduate School staff about thesis or dissertation formatting questions. Learn more via via the Graduate School 

Pixels and Perspectives: The Intersection of AI and Art | Exhibition and Discussion
June 27, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
 Join the conversation with renowned experts and local artists as the WKAR original short film Pixels and Perspectives is showcased. The event will begin with a reception featuring an interactive art activity led by MSU Museum. Light refreshments will be served. Learn more and register via MSU Museum

Muelder Summer Carillon Series
July 3-Aug. 7
 Attend free outdoor music events every Wednesday during the summer.This free, family-friendly series takes place at the Beaumont Tower and special guest performances. Attendees are welcome to bring a chair, blanket or picnic. Learn more about this series via MSU College of Music

Inclusivity in the Classroom: Challenges and Opportunities
July 9, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
The Kugel model of educator development emphasizes that the journey of inclusivity in education transitions from focusing on the educator to fostering independent learners. This session will cover the challenges of Inclusive Teaching and how we can design flexible learning environments that accommodate individual learner differences. We will also touch on Universal Design for Learning (UDL). HYBRID: Learn more and register via the Graduate School

ETD Formatting Webinar
Attention: Master’s Plan A and Doctoral
July 11, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Students will receive information regarding the following:

  • How to format their thesis or dissertation correctly
  • How to successfully submit their thesis or dissertation via ProQuest
  • How to successfully submit required paperwork, complete their Graduate School degree requirements, and receive their diploma

Students are encouraged to review the Graduate School’s Electronic Thesis and Dissertation website where current information about formatting and requirements are listed prior to attending the workshop. VIRTUAL: Learn more and register via the Graduate School


Opportunities

Call for Applications: It’s On Us Planning Committee
The Prevention, Outreach and Education Department is recruiting two student co-chairs to lead the Fall 2024 It’s On Us planning committee. The mission of It’s On Us is to “build the movement to combat campus sexual assault by engaging all students, including young men, and activating the largest student organizing program of its kind in grassroots awareness and prevention education programs.” Award: $500. The PILOT Project
The Pursuing Intentional Learning in Organizations Training (PILOT) Project aims to bridge the gap between graduating students and non-academic professionals. This four-week project will provide students with insights and strategies for transitioning from academia to non-academic careers. Virtual meetings are held on Tuesdays and Thursday at 4 p.m. via Zoom. VIRTUAL: Learn more and register via the Graduate School


Graduate Teaching Assistant Orientation and Preparation Program
Attention: Graduate Teaching Assistants
The Graduate Teaching Assistant Preparation Program (Aug. 16-22) offers sessions that provide required policy training, sessions to make you more effective in your teaching, and includes resources and professional development opportunities. Register by: July 30. Learn more via the Graduate School

ETD Summer 2024 Submission Deadline 
The deadline for the initial submission of thesis and dissertations to ProQuest for the Summer semester is July 31 at 5 p.m. The document submitted to proQuest is expected to be a final version. Students are highly encouraged to read and follow the Thesis and Dissertation information available on the Graduate School’s website
