Fall Raines Colloquium: Identity, Power, and Labels: A Critical Examination of Latin* Naming Politics
Oct. 5, 1 to 2 p.m. Dr. Salinas, an accomplished scholar, has published extensively on Latino/ax student identity, received numerous awards for social justice work, and holds a prominent role in academic journals. In this dialogue, Dr. Salinas discusses the significance of Latin* and Latinx/a/o/e/i/u identities and their complex labels. Call for Proposals & Student Keynote for WILD (Women*s Initiative for Leadership Development)
The WILD (Women*s Initiative for Leadership Development) planning committee is seeking workshop facilitators. The theme for this year’s event (which will be held Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the MSU Union) is We Are Not Alone: Validate, Rejuvenate, Liberate. Following the events that occurred on campus last semester, WILD wanted to embrace the idea of validating one another in how we feel, using emotionally intelligent leadership, and building community. Any topics that are directly or tangentially related to the theme are welcome. Learn more and submit your proposal via Google Forms by Oct. 5. Additionally, there is a student keynote position available (learn more via Handshake). This speaker will receive a $500 honorarium.

MSU Safe Place Crisis Chat
MSU Safe Place offers free individual and group therapy, advocacy and shelter for MSU faculty, staff and students. The MSU Safe Place Crisis Chat is intended for survivors and co-survivors of relationship violence and stalking who are in need of support. This support service is staffed by trained volunteers on a limited basis and is available from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Friday. Learn more via MSU Safe Place
