Resources for Instructors
The MSU Center for Teaching & Learning Innovation has a growing list of resources for teaching after a crisis. MSU’s Counseling & Psychiatric Services also provide this one-page document on dealing with the aftermath of tragedy in the classroom. Last week’s webinar Rebuilding Hope: Teaching in the Aftermath offers helpful resources in advance of classes resuming.

If you need to move your class online for some/all of the time before spring break, please confer with your faculty supervisor and help us document this via a very short form, so we can keep the records the Office of the Provost has asked us to.

Student Support Groups
These small support group are intended to create a safe space to process your emotional experience in the wake of last week’s tragic campus event. Sessions are limited to 12 participants per session and open to all MSU students. Attendees are encouraged to participate and engage during these sessions.

Spartan Resilience Training Program
The Spartan Resilience Training Program is offering several virtual reflect and connect sessions for MSU faculty, staff, and graduate students this week. These sessions are an opportunity for people to be in community with fellow Spartans experiencing a wide range of emotions.

Additional Supports
Self-guided resources, such as soothing breathing techniques, progressive muscle relaxation and others, are available on the CAPS Resources page. Support webinar now available on-demand: Developing Resilience in the Wake of Tragedy.

WKAR has a series of resources for parents with young children, including Helping Children with Tragic Events in the News and When Something Scary Happens.
