Astrid Zita, a master’s student in the Athletic Training program, shares 3 favorite reads: As a young professional working towards becoming an athletic trainer, I’ve constantly experienced interprofessional collaboration and its importance in maximizing one’s athletic potential. Reading has not only helped me supplement my learning about other domains, but it has been the greatest investment to help me grow personally and professionally. Here are a few of my favorite reads:
- Conscious Coaching: The Art and Science of Building Buy-In by Brett Bartholomew: This book is inclusive to anyone who wants to understand better how to foster buy-in through communication that will further grow your relationships.
- The Quadrant System: Navigating Stress in Team Sport by Daniel Bove: A great resource for sports medicine and performance practitioners to understand how to manage training, stressors, and recovery in a team sport environment.
- Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein: An interesting read that provides a compelling analysis of having a range of experiences across multiple fields as advantages to foster solutions in the modern world.
