Youth Entrepreneurship: Universities and Youth in Conversation
Nov. 30. 8 to 9 a.m. Join entrepreneurs and experts from Egerton University, Michigan State University, and some of Africa’s emerging entrepreneurs through the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) Public Dialogue to discuss and appreciate the challenges surrounding youth and entrepreneurship and opportunities for the sustainable development of the youth entrepreneurial ecosystem. Lunch & Learn: Having Difficult Conversations
Nov. 30. 12 to 1 p.m. This session will focus on how to effectively initiate and facilitate conversations about unexpected grades, learning progress, assumptions, biases, and inappropriate comments with students. In this session we will identify contentious topics, use these as teachable moments, and discuss and develop strategies to add to your educator toolbox. College of Education End of Semester Writing Marathon Challenge
Dec. 1-2. Writing marathons are several hours of dedicated writing time with shifting locations. The college is hosting a grad student writing marathon that consists of four two-hour writing sessions on Dec. 1-2. You can join in person or online. Drinks and snacks will be provided for in-person attendees. Those who complete three out of four writing sessions (in-person or virtual) will win a College of Education T-shirt.

New CEPSE Courses for Spring 2023
- CEP 942: Single-case Experimental Designs for Intervention Research will teach participants the essential features of single-case experimental designs (SCEDs) in order to carry out intervention-based research and identify evidence-based practices in educational settings. It will introduce participants to a natural science approach to designing, conducting, and critically evaluating research in educational, clinical, and community settings. Grad Student Position: College of Natural Science
Estimated 8-10 hours until project completion, starting in fall semester and continuing into spring semester:
- Assist with qualitative thematic analysis of virtual student listening sessions
- Assist with reviewing, coding, and analyzing transcripts to find themes/trends
- Create written report in spring 2023
- Work as a team with another graduate student

2023 ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods
From May through August, the ICPSR Summer Program offers more than 80 courses in statistics, quantitative and qualitative methods, and data analysis for researchers across the social, behavioral, and health sciences. Electronic Theses and Dissertation Deadlines
Deadlines for Electronic Theses and Dissertations are coming up:
- Submission Deadline: Dec. 1, 5 p.m. Each semester has a deadline for the initial submission of theses and dissertations to ProQuest. The document submitted to ProQuest is expected to be a final version, meaning it has been successfully defended, corrections made and there are no more content changes.
- Final Deadline: Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. Documents have been accepted and delivered for publishing, all required paperwork has been turned in, all milestones have been completed and all degree audits have been completed.
