The Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Eduation Program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
The mission of CACREP is to promote the professional competence of counseling and related practitioners through the development of preparation standards; the encouragement of excellence in program development; and the accreditation of professional preparation programs.
Doctoral programs in counselor education address professional roles in five doctoral core areas: counseling, supervision, teaching, research and scholarship, and leadership and advocacy. These five doctoral core areas represent the foundational knowledge required of doctoral graduates in counselor education (CACREP, 2016).
