Graduate Certificates

The MAET program offers 3 graduate certificates (GC). Each graduate certificate is 9 credits (3 courses). Our certificates can be completed as stand-alone certificates or can be incorporated into your graduate degree at MSU, with approval from your program advisor. Learners who are not seeking a full master’s degree experience may enroll in a single graduate certificate (please see our GC Apply page).

Individual course descriptions and timing can be found on our Requirements page.

MAET Graduate Certificate Information

You can complete a GC fully online or participate in some courses face-to-face through our Overseas summer experience. All GC courses are master’s level courses which can seamlessly transfer into the Master of Arts in Educational Technology degree program. We welcome students to the program regardless as to your home location but the GC programs do not fulfill the academic requirements to apply for a J-1 visa for international students.

Upon completion of your GC, you will receive a certificate indicating you achieved a satisfactory level of knowledge about and experience with the content of their graduate certificate program. Completing a GC does not gain teacher certification and does not add any endorsements to an established teacher certification. The credits may be applicable for students who need to earn graduate credits for their professional licensure.
