UnknownAccording to U.S. News & World Report, Michigan State University ranks 23rd in the nation on the list of best online master’s degree programs in education. This is the second time U.S. News has ranked online degree programs based on a variety of data provided by participating institutions.

Four disciplines at the master’s degree level are ranked: business, engineering, nursing and education. The 2013 listing ranks schools based on a composite of scores in four categories: admissions selectivity, student engagement. faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology.

The MSU College of Education offers six fully online master’s degree programs. The information used by U.S. News represents an aggregate of available data about students, faculty and practices across all of those programs, with an emphasis on the longest-running online program in the college: the Master of Arts in Education (MAED). In some cases, schools were asked to report what was most “typical” given the breadth of their programs.
