Our expert presenters will share the latest information on the role of the coach and strategies for promoting the positive development of athletes. Our keynote speaker this year is Coach Brian Smith, Head Men’s Wrestling Coach at the University of Missouri. Coach Smith will share how he creates “Tiger Culture” in his program. Our presentation topics include keys in strength and conditioning programming, nutrition for high school athletes, strategies to create safe sport environments, activities to teach mental skills, and coaching values used to promote positive athlete development.
MHSAA CAP LEVELS 7 & 8
The 2022 Summer Coaches’ School has partnered with MHSAA to offer two levels training in the Coach Advancement Program (CAP) to those who attend the event. The MHSAA CAP is an educational program geared to assist coaches in their growth and development as they advance in the field of educational athletics. By attending both days of the Summer Coaches’ School coaches can earn CAP Levels 7 & 8. Coaches can also earn one level for attending one day of the event, either June 16 for CAP 7 or June 17 for CAP 8. If you are interested in earning CAP credit, you will also need to register for the event through the MHSAA CAP website.
