Matlick will concurrently serve as the senior associate director of development within the Student Success Development Office, a role she has held for just shy of three years. Other positions in her nearly 10-years full-time at MSU include roles within the College of Law and University Advancement's Annual Giving team.

Matlick enters the role after Eric Sturdy Jr., the previous senior director, left the university for a role as vice president of philanthropy with the Van Andel Institute. Over his five years with the college, he led the documentation of over $13 million in gifts and pledges.

Matlick is one of two new faces in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. As part of her first responsibilities in the unit, Matlick is assisting in onboarding Tamara El-Khoury as the associate director of development. El-Khoury began in her role on June 16.

Onboarding and creating a cohesive community are core parts of Matlick's work ethic. She developed an onboarding program for new MSU fundraisers as part of her capstone project in graduate school. Matlick, a first-generation college-going student, has three degrees from MSU: Criminal Justice (B.A.), Psychology (B.A.) and Management Strategy and Leadership (M.S.).
