When is Homecoming?

The 100th homecoming at MSU will begin on Monday, Sept. 28 and end on Saturday, Oct. 3. The theme for this year is “Spartans Take the World Stage,” celebrating everyone from educators to health professionals, from athletes to researchers who have done extraordinary things on the world’s stages.

When and where is the parade?

The parade will start at 6 p.m. in downtown East Lansing on Friday, Oct. 2. The parade route starts at the corner of Abbot and Burcham roads and travels south to Grand River Avenue. The parade route travels east, turning south on Collingwood, and then continuing south on Farm Lane. The parade concludes at the corner of Farm and Shaw Lanes. William Brohn, a 1955 alumnus of the university, will serve as the parade’s grand marshall. Brohn is a musical composer and arranger, and has composed scores for several of Broadway’s popular shows, including Miss Saigon, Ragtime and Wicked. He won a Tony Award for Best Orchestrations for Ragtime and has won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Orchestrations three times.

When is the game?

The football game versus Purdue will take place in Spartan Stadium at noon on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Where is the college’s homecoming tailgate located?

Dem Hall Field, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Learn more about the event by visiting our event calendar. No need to RSVP or register! Come one, come all.

Non-alcoholic beverages, breakfast and lunch will be provided during our tailgate.
