Michigan State University ranks 19th among hundreds of universities around the globe in the field of education, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject released today.
Quacquarelli Symonds, or QS, known for its overall world ranking of universities, has published annual rankings of institutions by popular subject areas for five years. Criteria include academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
MSU’s ranking in education has grown from No. 42 in 2012, No. 27 in 2013 and No. 21 in 2014.
“We’re very pleased to be recognized among the best education schools around the world,” said Donald E. Heller, dean of the College of Education at MSU. “It is a very fitting tribute to the scholarly reputation of and research conducted by our faculty.”
Additional indicators QS employed to compile the rankings include an academic reputation survey, an employer reputation survey and citations per paper. A total of 894 institutions were ranked.
