Michigan State University’s Office of K-12 Outreach has been funded by the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR) and its Michigan Applied Public Policy Research (MAPPR) grant program to conduct a research study on Michigan districts’ experience with ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) funds.

We are seeking input from you and other school district administrators. The purpose of this study is to understand ESSER spending in your district from your point of view and to understand how your local context influenced your actions and those of the people you work with.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to fill out. Please set aside enough time to complete your survey in one sitting. For your participation in the survey, you have the opportunity to enter your name into a raffle for one of six $50 digital gift cards. If you indicate that you are interested in the raffle, you must complete the survey, be at least eighteen years old, and be a resident of Michigan. The survey will be open for four weeks, and a raffle drawing will occur each week (please see the table below). Respondents are only eligible for the raffle taking place in the same week as when their survey response was collected. Respondents will be notified of the raffle date and time in advance of the raffle occurring. Winners will be notified via email when the raffle is complete.

Monday, November 25th, at 4:00 PM: Two raffle winners ($50 each) will be selected from all responses received from November 18th at 8:00 AM to November 24th at 11:59 PM.

Monday, December 2nd, at 4:00 PM: One raffle winner ($50) will be selected from all responses received from November 25th at 12:00 AM to December 1st at 11:59 PM.

Monday, December 9th, at 4:00 PM: One raffle winner ($50) will be selected from all responses received from December 2nd at 12:00 AM to December 8th at 11:59 PM.

Monday, December 16th, at 4:00 PM: Two raffle winners ($50 each) will be selected from all responses received from December 9th at 12:00 AM to December 15th at 11:59 PM.

Your participation in this survey will be used for research. Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary: you may refuse to respond to any question, and you may end your participation at any time without consequence. There are no risks or direct benefits to you in responding to the survey. Your name and/or your district’s name will not be attached to your answers in any reports. The results of this survey will be used in a policy brief that informs future guidance tied to one-time grants and could influence state and federal school funding decisions, as well as other research purposes. In completing the survey, you acknowledge you are consenting to the use of your responses for the research study, you are at least eighteen years old, and you are a resident of Michigan.
