CREATE Seminar: Expanding Equity and Justice in Computer Science Education

This presentation by Dr. Allison Scott will examine the current landscape of equity in computer science education, highlight promising new initiatives, and prompt us to think collectively about how we might envision a new path for computer science that centers equity and justice and creates a more equitable future. College of Education End of Semester Writing Marathon Challenge
Dec. 1-2. Writing marathons are several hours of dedicated writing time with shifting locations. The college is hosting a grad student writing marathon that consists of four two-hour writing sessions on Dec. 1-2. You can join in person or online. Drinks and snacks will be provided for in-person attendees. Those who complete three out of four writing sessions (in-person or virtual) will win a College of Education T-shirt.

Education Policy Speaker Series: Dr. Ericka Weathers
Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. “Truancy and truancy policy in K-12 education,” presented by Dr. Ericka Weathers, assistant professor in Penn GSE’s Policy, Organizations, Leadership, and Systems division. Early Career Visiting Scholars Program at Northwestern
Attention: Doctoral
Northwestern University is seeking four tenure-track scholars to conduct K-12 education research in residence during the 2023-2024 academic year. The scholars will explore a range of issues facing underrepresented students and connect with researchers across Northwestern’s campus and beyond. Scholars receive salary support and a research fund.
