2023 Global Children’s Literature Teacher Fellowship
The MSU College of Education, Asian Studies Center, African Studies Center, and the Center for Latin America and Caribbean Studies are excited to announce the 2023 Global Children’s Literature Teacher Fellowship program. This fellowship brings together K-12 classroom teachers with a team of MSU faculty and graduate students to connect local and global ideas through children’s literature. To facilitate this program, we are looking for graduate students from diverse background who are enthusiastic about children’s literature. Selected candidates will be paid on an hourly basis with an estimated total of 40 hours of engagement. Major responsibilities include:

  • identifying children’s literature based on world regions;
  • planning and presenting at the two in-person sessions;
  • facilitating three Zoom sessions related to regional groups;
  • supporting teacher participants in finding resources, selecting children’s literature, and providing feedback for lesson plans.

The Julian Samora Endowed Scholarships
These scholarships, named in honor of Dr. Julian Samora, support two students (one graduate and one undergraduate) engaged in scholarly activities focused on Latino/as in Midwestern communities. Award: $1,000 credit for the Fall and Spring 2023-24 semesters. Apply by: Feb. 3. Learn more via the Graduate School

P. Lea Martinez Endowed Scholarship Fund
The scholarship, named in honor of P. Lea Martinez, supports one graduate student conducting research on health issues among Latinos. Award: $1,000 credit for the Fall and Spring 2023-24 semesters. Apply by: Feb. 3. Learn more via the Graduate School

Mary Louise Gephart Donnell Fellowship
Enrolled MSU graduate students in good standing studying or researching any discipline related to human environment and design, including, but not limited, to interior design, retailing, and apparel and textile design are eligible to apply.
