Fall 2022 Doctoral Convocation

Summary

Information on how to apply to participate in the MSU College of Education Fall 2022 Doctoral Convocation (hooding ceremony).

The MSU College of Education Fall 2022 Doctoral Convocation (hooding ceremony) will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, in the Erickson Hall Kiva.

We welcome participation in this ceremony for any candidate who meets the following Fall 2022 eligibility requirements:

  • Ph.D. candidates must have defended their dissertation or have a dissertation defense scheduled no later than Dec. 31, 2022
  • Ed.D. and Ed.S. candidates must plan to complete all program requirements before Dec. 31, 2022

Signing up to participate in this ceremony is a two-step process:

  1. Sign up to participate via Qualtrics.
  2. After you submit your Qualtrics questionnaire, it will route to your program advisor for approval.

Both the candidate’s questionnaire and the advisor’s approval need to be completed by Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at 5 p.m. If you do not receive a confirmation email within one week of submitting your application, please contact Carrie Oney (cretenca@msu.edu) in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs.


*MSU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION DOCTORAL CONVOCATION POLICY:  Effective January 1, 2016, students who defend their dissertations or complete their programs of study between January 1 and June 30 are eligible to participate in the spring ceremony, and students who defend their dissertations or complete their programs between July 1 and December 31 are eligible to participate in the fall ceremony. Candidates do not have the option of participating in a semester other than the one for which they qualify according to this policy, with the exception of School Psychology Ph.D. students who defend their dissertations in late fall and then complete an internship in the spring.
