CED in 3: Simon Cone

Summary

Each week, we ask a member of the College of Education grad student community to share three picks related to one of their passions.

Simon Cone, third-year doctoral student in Kinesiology with a concentration in cognitive and motor neuroscience: While growing up, I always enjoyed playing video games with my brothers. Due to COVID I had the chance to spend quite a bit of time playing video games again. My favorite 3 video games are:

  1. Age of Empires 2. I have played this game since it came out over 20 years ago. There is a updated version on Steam that I still play quite a bit. AOE2 really is a timeless classic.
  2. StarCraft 2. I always play as the Terran race because I am a casual. My favorite units are the Marine and the Medevac. I have a pretty strong 4-minute rush strategy that is tough to beat. I am currently ranked as a Platinum level 2 player in 1v1 matches.
  3. Halo 4. Unpopular opinion: Halo 4 was better than Halo 3. Halo 4 came out during my freshman year of undergrad; coincidently I nearly failed cellular biology that semester. The jetpack and battle rifle loadout was my favorite to play with.
