Each week, we ask a member of the college grad student community to share 3 picks related to one of their passions. This week, Dr. Brittany Dillman, Director of Graduate Certificate Programs for MAET and MALXD, shares three favorite podcasts:
- Maintenance Phase (https://www.maintenancephase.com): Aubrey Gordon and Michael Hobbes debunk and decode the research and mainstream messages about wellness and weight loss. They dive deep into research methods and their humor is infectious! They critique our culture’s relationship with fatness and bring new perspectives to diet, exercise, and media. Recommended for everyone.
- Handsome Podcast (https://www.youtube.com/@handsomepod): Comedians, Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin crack each other up (and Brittany) while telling stories up and answering a question posed to them by a celebrity guest. Their episodes are bound to cover numerous topics in hilarious ways. Recommended for everyone.
- Women in Crime (https://womenandcrimepodcast.com): Criminalists, Dr. Meghan Sacks and Dr. Amy Shlosberg, study and report about females who are victims of crime, perpetrators of crime, and involved in the criminal justice system. They tell the stories of women and also share criminological theories (which are often similar to educational theories). Shows involve sensitive themes and topics, listener discretion is advised.
