Slavery to Freedom An American Odyssey Series: Marley Dias
Feb. 2, 5 p.m. Marley Dias began working as an activist at the age of 11 when she created #1000BlackGirlBooks, collecting over 13,000 children’s books featuring Black girls as the lead character. She was recognized by TIME in 2018 as one of the 24 most influential teens and was named the youngest member of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. HYBRID EVENT: Learn more via the Graduate School

OISS Academic Support Unit Resource Fair & Coffee Hour
Feb. 10, 4 to 6 p.m. The Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) is hosting an Academic Support Unit Resource Fair at our signature event, Coffee Hour, in the Cross Roads Food Court in the International Center. Coffee hour usually draws around 50 students, scholars, and community members from a variety of countries, cultures, and academic programs. We provide this space to share information and provide an opportunity to relax and connect. This resource fair will inform students about and get them connected to some of the many different academic support units on campus.

New Graduate Certificate in Teacher Leadership
Attention: Online Master’s
The College of Education has a new graduate certificate in Teacher Leadership that can be completed as part of your master’s program. The fully online program includes four required courses and will qualify teachers for the Advanced Professional Teaching Certificate. MSU is one of only three Michigan universities approved to provide the advanced certificate. Call For Applications: Wellness Ambassador Program
This six-week workshop series will feature leaders from various wellness-related units on campus in conversation with graduate students about wellbeing. The program aims to cultivate a space for international graduate students and those who work with international graduate students to discuss culturally responsive tools to advocate for the wellbeing of themselves and others. Join the Spring 14-Day Writing Challenge from the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity. Just Education Policy Summer 2023

The goal of the Just Education Policy scholars program is to inspire and engage the next generation of racial justice-focused education policy scholars. The summer 2023 JEP scholars program will be held virtually (via Zoom) on June 6-8. It will include a mix of guided discussions about important concepts for those seeking to work in educational equity and justice, as well as community-building and direct mentoring sessions. Call for Abstracts: 2023 COGS Graduate Academic Conference
The 15th Annual Graduate Academic Conference will take place on Feb. 18, 2023, at the MSU Union. The Council of Graduate Students is now accepting abstracts for poster and oral presentations and applicants to participate in the famous Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition! Outdoor Personal Needs Pantry
The Women’s Center of Greater Lansing has installed an outdoor personal needs’ pantry, available to anyone in need of personal hygiene products outside of business hours. The pantry, located in front of 1712 E. Michigan Ave., is stocked with feminine hygiene products, shampoo, soap, and dental hygiene products. Learn more via PDF
ICPSR Summer Program Scholarships
The ICPSR Summer Program offers more than $150,000 in student scholarships every year, with the goal of removing financial barriers to participation and increasing access to statistical methods training for students of all backgrounds. ICPSR scholarships are open to students in Political Science, Public Policy, Education, Sociology, and several other disciplines.
