Support available to College of Education students who may be experiencing food insecurity.

MSU Student Food Bank
MSU undergraduate, graduate and professional students who do not have an MSU dining plan and are enrolled in courses in fall or spring semester are eligible to use the Student Food Bank. Learn more via MSU Student Food Bank

Greater Lansing Food Bank
Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) provides food to anyone in need within the seven counties it serves (Clare, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Ingham, Isabella, and Shiawassee). To find the nearest pantry near you, see the pantry locator

Outdoor Personal Needs Pantry
The Women’s Center of Greater Lansing has installed an outdoor personal needs’ pantry, available to anyone in need of personal hygiene products outside of business hours. The pantry, located in front of 1712 E. Michigan Ave., is stocked with feminine hygiene products, shampoo, soap, and dental hygiene products. Learn more via PDF

The Graduate School Emergency Fellowship Fund
The Graduate School’s Emergency Fellowship Funding is available to graduate students who experience unusual or unforeseen emergency situations that are of a sudden and temporary nature. Emergency funds are intended to provide support for one-time unexpected and extraordinary expenses and may be up to $3,000. The College of Education Student Emergency Fund

The College of Education Student Emergency Fund is dedicated to helping students with temporary, short-term financial assistance. Emergency funding is not intended to provide ongoing relief of recurring/routine expenses or as a consistent supplement for educational expenses.

The following examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Natural disaster such as fire, tornado, etc.
  • Uncovered costs related to unexpected/unforeseen medical expenses
  • Assistance with rent or utilities due to an emergency situation
  • Books, fees, or other school-related expenses

Eligibility: To be eligible for consideration a student must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a College of Education major for the semester in which they are requesting assistance.
  • Be able to provide sufficient documentation of financial hardship.
