College of Education Fellowship Opportunities

Did you know the Academic and Graduate Student Affairs office has several fellowship opportunities available each year? Please visit their website for a summary of various funding competitions. Register for these VIRTUAL info sessions to learn more:

  • Dissertation Completion Fellowship (DCF) Info Session, Oct. 13, 10 to 11 a.m. Audience: Doctoral students in their final year of doctoral studies (view fellowship details). Register to attend info session via Zoom
  • Summer Research Fellowship (SRF) Info Session, Oct. 17, 1 to 2 p.m. Audience: Doctoral students in their second year & beyond, but not yet at the dissertation stage (view fellowship details). Register to attend info session via Zoom
  • Summer Research Development (SRDF) Info Session, Nov. 28, 1 to 2 p.m. Audience: Doctoral students in their first year, unless already funded via University Distinguished or Enrichment Fellowships (view fellowship details). Register to attend via Zoom

Graduate Assistantship: Assistant Community Director
Residence Education and Housing Services has an opening for a half-time Graduate Assistantship for Spring 2023. This assistantship, also known as our Assistant Community Director, is a live-in position in an on-campus residence hall. Assistant Community Directors receive an apartment and meal plan, along with a stipend, 9-credit tuition waiver, and student health insurance. Deadline: Oct. 14. Learn more via the Graduate School

WW Dissertation Fellowships in Women’s Studies

Since 1974, the WW Dissertation Fellowship in Women’s Studies has supported original, significant, interdisciplinary doctoral dissertations on women’s and gender issues. Award: $5,000. Deadline: Oct. 14. Learn more via the Graduate School

Fellowship to Enhance Global Understanding
Attention: Doctoral
The Office of International Studies in Education is pleased to offer a Fellowship to Enhance Global Understanding (FEGU) program in 2022-23: Examining Race, Colonization, and Structural Inequality in a South African Context, led by Dr. Dorinda Carter Andrews and Dr. Terry Flennaugh. College of Education doctoral students in good standing in the first three years of their programs are eligible to apply. Support for Doctoral Students Who Are Full-Time Employees
Attention: Doctoral
This fall, the Office of Academic and Student Affairs is piloting a funding program targeted at doctoral students who are employed full-time. Eligible students will be able to apply for awards up to $1,500 per round of grant funding for expenses such as:

  • Food for a recurring or non-recurring writing/study group meeting. 
  • Transportation to attend a writing/study group/ retreat. 
  • Lodging and per diem for food for a writing or study retreat. 
  • Dependent care to enable focused time to study for comprehensive exams or engage in dissertation research or writing. 
  • Purchasing books or other resources about being enrolled in graduate school while employed full-time.
