Office for International Studies in Education: Welcome Brunch
Sept. 12, 9 to 11 a.m. Start off the new school year with a chance to connect with colleagues with international interests. All interested College of Education students, faculty and staff are warmly invited. Grab a cup of coffee, tea or juice and a snack, and learn about global and international education activities and the ways community members are engaged in related research, teaching, and outreach. Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Workshop Series
Sept. 12, 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP)  is conducting a workshop series that will present NSF GRFP program information and provide structured practice to create competitive GRFP application. Lunch & Learn: Connected Teaching in a Digital World
Sept. 14, 12 to 1 p.m. Graduate Teaching Assistants will share knowledge about teaching, technology and educational tools, and research. AGEP Learning Community Meeting

Sept. 15, 6 to 8 p.m. MSU’s Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) supports recruitment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented U.S. minorities in doctoral programs of the natural and social sciences, mathematics, and engineering. The MSU AGEP Learning Community is an informal environment where students from varying disciplines can gather, share their research in a 10-minute presentation, or discover that their graduate toils are not unusual. Education Policy Speaker Series: Dr. Sarah Cohodes
Sept. 16, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. “STEM Summer Programs for Underrepresented Youth Increase STEM Degrees,” presented by Dr. Sarah Cohodes. Cohodes is an Associate Professor of Economics and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University. HYBRID EVENT: 133F Erickson Hall or via Zoom (pass: EPSS). Navigating the PhD Workshops
Attention: Doctoral
Sept. 16, two sessions. This interactive, hybrid writing workshop is designed to help doctoral students develop an individualized plan for graduate writing, especially comprehensive exams, dissertation proposals, and dissertations. Session 1 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) is generally designed for students in the early years of their PhD study.
