Athletic Training Undergraduate Degree

Athletic Training at MSU

Our students are offered a wide interdisciplinary base of educational and professional development to prepare them for future job opportunities in collegiate, professional, clinical, high school, military, performing arts or industrial settings.

Michigan State University's Athletic Training undergraduate program involves an aggressive immersive and experiential learning structure, blended with an academically enriched curriculum. Students are exposed to state-of-the-art philosophies, equipment and research, and will benefit from hands-on interaction with MSU varsity athletes, athletic trainers and medical professionals.

Graduates set out on the path to become athletic trainers—highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic trainers work under the direction of a physician as prescribed by state licensure statutes. MSU's degree program prepares students to recognize, evaluate, treat, rehabilitate and manage emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions.

Athletic Training Final Cohort FS17

The Michigan State University Athletic Training program will be transitioning from a bachelor's to a master's level program. Answers to common questions can be found on the transition FAQs.
