
In the 2018 Annual Meeting for American Educational Research Association (AERA) at New York City, NY, lab members were engaged in various programs and presentations.
The lab members had five presentations including (1) Paper Session: Teacher Demographic Characteristics, Value Beliefs, and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) Perceptions by Sheng-Lun Cheng and Kui Xie, (2) Symposium Session: The Adverse Power of Conflictual Presence in Social Learning by Kui Xie, Sheng-Lun Cheng, and Lin Lu, (3) Poster Session: Profiles of Academic Motivation and School Belongingness: Insights of Motivational Profiles on Engagement and Performance by Kui Xie, Vanessa Vongkulluksn, Lin Lu, and Sheng-Lun Cheng, (4) Paper Session: Technology Integration: Role of Value in Teachers’ Internalization of External Barriers and Externalization of Beliefs by Vanessa Vongkulluksn, Margaret A Bowman, Kui Xie, (5) RoundTable Session: Value beliefs profiles and teachers’ technology integration practices by Nathan A. Hawk, Vanessa W. Vongkulluksn, and Kui Xie. Among them, Nathan Hawk won a Richard C. Anderson Graduate Student Research Award from the National Consortium for Instruction and Cognition. In addition, lab members are actively serving in various roles for programs in AERA 2018. For example, lab director Dr. Kui Xie served as a co-chair for Division C New Faculty Mentoring Program. He also served as a mentor for the SIG-Design and Technology graduate student mentoring program. Nathan Hawk served as a chair for a presentation session.
