Teaching Position: KIN 170 Foundations of Kinesiology
Duties: Teaching duties on KIN 170, Foundations of Kinesiology. This course is a requirement for all KIN majors. Contentincludes Kinesiology as a disciplinary major; subdisciplines and professions; and historical perspectives.

Desired Qualifications: Students who desire to teach this course should have a broad background in and appreciation for many of the following elements: a) Experiencing Physical Activity; b) Scholarly Study of Physical Activity - Sociocultural Sphere (philosophy of physical activity, history of physical activity, sociology of physical activity), Behavioral Sphere (motor behavior, psychology of sport and exercise, pedagogy of physical activity), and Biophysical Sphere (biomechanics of physical activity, physiology of physical activity); and c) A Master’s degree in Kinesiology or Physical Education.
Orientation and Training: Graduate assistants are required to attend orientation prior to the start of fall semester that includes participation in the All-University TA program. Staff development activities include participation in in-service workshops as well as policy staff meetings throughout the academic year.
Mentoring and Monitoring: Graduate assistants are observed and evaluated at least once each semester. Written and verbal feedback is provided after each observation. Copies of the written evaluation, course materials, and SIRS are kept in the graduate assistant’s file.
