Emiko Blalock

Dr. A. Emiko Blalock is an assistant professor, fixed-term, in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE), and the program coordinator for the Student Affairs Administration Master's degree. Her work focuses on issues of access and equity in graduate level education, and how gender, race, and social origins play a role in selecting, applying to, and accessing graduate school and subsequent socialization experiences. Her research pays close attention to how early life, undergraduate student experiences, and aspects outside the institution (community ties, romantic partnerships, familial resources) shape pathways into and through post-secondary education.
