There are two cohort opportunities available to incoming freshmen who are interested in teaching as a career. The Urban Educators Cohort Program (UECP) is especially committed to preparing teachers who can address the needs of children and youth living in underserved and under-resourced communities. The Global Educators Cohort Program (GECP) is a specialized teacher preparation program focused on global and international perspectives. Graduates of this program will be especially qualified to bring the world to their students, to teach abroad, or to teach in magnet schools and other programs that emphasize international, global, or multi-cultural perspectives. Students in both UECP and GECP take specific sections of TE 150 and TE 250, which weave urban or global themes into the course material.
