1. Education Policy Core. All of the following courses:

3. Concentration in Education Policy

Four additional courses designed to advance the concentration in policy studies and to achieve competence in an approved policy discipline (i.e., political science, economics, sociology, comparative studies, evaluation). At least one of the courses must be EAD949 Advanced Seminar in Education Policy. This is a rotating topics course which students can take for up to 12 credits.3
The student’s guidance committee must approve the additional three policy concentration courses.9

4. Education Policy Workshops

In your first year (fall and spring) you will be required to attend monthly Ed Policy workshops.

5. Students must also complete:

  1. Comprehensive Examination
  2. Dissertation
  3. All students must complete 24 dissertation credits: Dissertation (999) credits must be taken in the department that aligns with your Dissertation Director’s home department.

* Required courses in student’s first year. Content knowledge required for part one of comprehensive exams. Comps part one taken late summer following student’s first year.
