Recipients will be undergraduate students (freshmen/sophomore) with a stated interest in pursuing admission in the elementary, secondary or special education programs in the College of Education and/or students enrolled in elementary, secondary or special education programs in the College of Education including students at the post-baccalaureate level (internship year). Candidates for this award will have graduated from a Michigan high school, carry a minimum 3.0 GPA, have financial need, and plans to teach for a minimum of five years in the state of Michigan. Awards are renewable for up to four additional years if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and remains enrolled in the program.
