About the Global Educators Cohort Program

Program Overview

Below is an outline of the GECP program requirements for the fall 2009 cohort. Because the program is so new, planning for program components for the junior year and beyond is still underway.

Course descriptions can be found on the MSU course description website.

Information about the requirements for teacher preparation can be found on the Department of Teacher Education's Teacher Preparation website.

The program requirements outlined below provide information about the requirements specific to the Global Educators Cohort Program. For information about the teacher preparation program, whose requirements all Global Educator Cohort Program students must also meet, see/contact the Student Affairs Office.

Program Requirements

In addition to program coursework (below), GECP work closely with the GECP adviser to plan an academic program that is rich in international learning. The GECP adviser can help you identify coursework in your program that has a global/international focus; you are also encouraged to take advantage of the many wonderful study abroad programs offered at MSU, to study a new language, or participate with other GECP students in the many global activities and learning opportunities across the campus and in the surrounding community. GECP students are expected to supplement their education coursework with other global learning experiences.
