You may email one of our HALE M.A. ambassadors or email haleadm@msu.edu to request a meeting with a faculty member.
Students may transfer up to nine (9) semester credits of graduate work (with approval from your HALE advisor) from other accredited institutions, including graduate courses through MSU Lifelong Education. Only courses in which at least a 3.0 grade or its equivalent was received will be considered for transfer. A Credit Evaluation form must be completed, signed by the advisor, and submitted to the unit administrator along with an official transcript.
The time limit for the completion for the HALE M.A. degree is five (5) calendar years from the date of enrollment in the first course. Full-time students typically graduate in two (2) years. Part-time students typically graduate in three (3) years.
You will receive an advisor at the time of admission.
HALE M.A. students generally do not hold graduate assistantships, as they are mostly full-time employees completing their degree part-time. However, HALE M.A. students may apply for graduate assistant positions in other units, although currently there is no centralized process for HALE M.A. students to apply for graduate assistantships.
