This award honors Joe L. Byers, Professor Emeriti of counseling, educational psychology and special educating. An educational psychologist who specialized in educational technology, Dr. Byers has long been interested in the factors that influence the adoption of technology, the impact of technology on learning, and the applications of technology in teaching and learning.
Recipients shall be tenured or tenure-stream faculty in the College of Education in counseling, educational administration, educational psychology, teacher education or special education; they will be selected by a committee composed of the Dean and four other tenured faculty members. These awards are intended to benefit faculty who wish to have the opportunity to do innovative research and scholarship in the integration of technology and curriculum. The funds associated with this award are intended to advance the research on technological applications and integration with curriculum across the K-16 education.
