The MSU MA-ABA clinical practicum fulfills the 1,000-hour university practicum experience, as required by the Behvaior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Students receive extensive supervised experience in the application of behavioral concepts and principles to consumers in their area(s) of interest, with supervision provided by the course instructor and the identified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supervisor at the site.
Students will enroll in three (3) semesters of practicum during the first year of the master’s program. During each semester, students will:
- Work 20 to 30 hours in the practicum placement each week
- Attend weekly cohort meetings with the course instructor
- Attend individual supervision meetings for no less than 7.5% of the total hours spent in practicum each week with the BCBA site supervisor
