Get a Job Conference

The Get a Job Conference is an annual event that allows current teaching interns to gain experience interviewing with professionals in the field. Held at Erickson Hall, our more “seasoned” alumni are paired one on one to help new graduates gain the practical skills needed for future interviews. Interviews are matched according to area of interest, elementary, secondary, special education, and K-12 (art, music, physical education and kinesiology).

This year’s conference will be held on Saturday, in early/mid-March 2013, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in Erickson Hall. To volunteer at the event, contact Mark Dziatczak (mdziatczack2@troy.k12.mi.us).

Technology Conference

The Education Technology Conference is annually hosted by the College of Education, MACUL, and the College of Education Alumni Association at Erickson Hall on the campus of Michigan State University. In-service teachers, pre-service interns, administrators, and technology coordinators are encourage to attend this day-long event that offers information sessions and workshops covering a range of topics from Google Apps in education to professional development resources for current teachers.

The conference is scheduled for October 27, 2012 with featured presenter Alec Couros. For additional information and to register visit the Center for Teaching and Technology.

Homecoming Tent Party

Every year the university welcomes home alumni during football season. The event includes food, tailgating games, face painting, door prizes, the college band Against School Violence, and members of our community.

We'll welcome alumni and friends to the tent October 13, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. - noon, before kickoff versus the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Grandparents University

Grandparents University is a program for alumni and grandchildren (ages 8-12) to come together for a three-day educational experience while spending time together on the MSU campus. Participants enjoy the college experience of living in a residence hall, attending classes across campus and sampling the many highlights of MSU. Grandparents University gives alumni a chance to relive their college days while exploring campus and creating lifelong memories with their grandchildren. College of Education professors, staff, graduate students and Alumni Association Board Members have all served as class facilitators.
