Required Professional Education Courses for Students Pursuing Secondary Certification

The following courses are required for students pursuing secondary-level certification.  Additional courses are required during the 5th year teaching internship (TE 501, TE 801, TE 802, TE 502, TE 803 and TE 804).

TE 150 (3 credits)    

This course is not restricted and can be taken by students before admission to the teaching preparation program.

TE 250 (3 credits) 

This course is not restricted and can be taken by students before admission to the teaching preparation program.

TE 302 (4 credits)

This course is restricted to students who have been admitted to the secondary teacher certification program, and it requires a classroom field placement.  The course is most often taken during the junior year.

TE 407 (5 credits)

This course is restricted to students who have been admitted to the secondary teacher certification program, and it requires a classroom field placement.  The course is most often taken during fall semester of the senior year. 

TE 408 (6 credits)

This course is restricted to students who have been admitted to the secondary teacher certification program, and it requires a classroom field placement.  The course is most often taken during spring semester of the senior year.
